We are the LBA
The Latvian Builders Association is an alliance of legal entities and individuals who work in the construction sector.
The Latvian Builders Association was established by 67 members on June 27, 1996. Today the association brings together 181 companies from nearly all of Latvia's regions. In order to make the work proceed more quickly, the association has established seven affiliates in Cesis, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Liepaja, Ogre, Rezekne and Valmiera.

Our goals
* To agree on and defend the interests of our members in the labour market of the building industry, in economic issues, in relationships between employers and employees, and in relations with clients;
* To promote the training of qualified specialists for the construction industry and to improve qualifications in accordance with public demand;
* To promote ethics and aesthetic knowledge among our members.

Our tasks
* To represent and to protect the interests of our members in relations with the government, with governance structures, and with other legal entities and individuals;
* To offer assistance and consultations to our members;
* To protect members against dishonest competition;
* To participate actively in the drafting of concepts and strategic proposals for the development of the sector;
* To take part in preparing and improving normative acts in the sector, including terms of reference for construction bids for tender, then monitoring the implementation of these insofar as the law permits us to do so;
* To draft proposals for the Construction Council on the way in which nationally important buildings can be designed, built and financed;
* To participate actively in elaborating and improving a system and strategy for the professional training of specialists in the sector;
* To systematise progressive aspects of manufacturing and economic operations and to offer recommendations to members of the organisation;
* To organise market research and to draft relevant recommendations;
* To take part in various events so as to popularise the work of association members and to enhance their prestige in Latvia and abroad.

The senior decision making institution of the association is the General Meeting of members. The ongoing institution of governance is the Board, which consists of 14 members, including the seven affiliate directors. An audit commission reviews the economic and financial activities of the Association.
